Abstract
Morgagni hernias that occur on the anterior aspect of diaphragm are very rare and comprise approximately 3% of congenital diaphragmatic hernias. Most Morgagni hernias are incidentally found and complications such as incarceration are rare. But once they have been diagnosed, the definite treatment is surgery. We experienced a 72-year-old female patient who complained of right upper abdominal pain, fever and chill. The Morgagni hernia and gallstones were diagnosed by Chest x-ray and computerized tomography of thorax. Laparoscopic repair of Morgagni hernia and cholecystectomy were performed. The patient was discharged without complications and did not have any symptoms of recurrence after 6 months. The advance of Laparoscopic surgery made it possible to perform repair of Morgagni hernia less traumatic and more comfortable to the patient than conventional transabdominal or transthoracic method.
